Graeme Ford Teacher - LYNX Cochrane
Graeme Ford is a multifaceted educator and facilitator whose work is deeply rooted in the power of nature to foster growth, learning, and connection.
As a nature-inspired education teacher at LYNX, Graeme guides students in grades 1-9 in the Cochrane outdoor classroom. His approach is grounded in hands-on, experiential learning, drawing from his extensive experience with Canadian Rockies Public Schools at Alpenglow School and the Canadian Rockies Outdoor Learning Centre. He excels at using the natural world as a dynamic, cross-curricular classroom.
A notable example of his approach is the student-driven chicken coop project he led in Canmore. This initiative empowered students to design and build their own coop, transforming a simple question about a class pet into a comprehensive, cross-curricular lesson in geometry, measurement, science, and language arts. Graeme is skilled at integrating these core academic subjects to create holistic learning experiences.
Beyond his work with LYNX, Graeme extends his passion for nature-based immersion by facilitating deep-wilderness retreats for men through Man Aligned. These off-the-grid experiences are designed to help men step away from distraction and into a deeper connection with themselves, nature, and a supportive brotherhood.
In these settings, Graeme guides participants through powerful somatic practices, including breathwork, cold plunges, sound healing, and sweat lodges. This work invites men to co-create their camp, gather around the fire, and explore their inner landscapes with curiosity and support, ultimately leading to greater clarity, connection, and a renewed sense of purpose.
Whether he is teaching children in the outdoor classroom or guiding men in the wilderness, Graeme's work is unified by his core belief in the healing and educational power of the natural world. He holds a Bachelor of Education from Concordia University (2012) and a Bachelor of Child and Youth Care from the University of Victoria (2009).
