Principal Joe Smith draws on his extensive experience as both a teacher and school leader to ensure LYNX students succeed. Over the last 29 years, Joe has served in the public school system, at an independent school with an academic focus, and at all three schools within the Third Schools system.

Throughout his career, Joe has used his background as an high level athletic coach of many different sports to mentor both children and adults. He understand as the late Sir John Whitmore put it, [c]oaching is unlocking a person’s potential to maximize their growth.” Joe knows that outdoor experiences can a positive impact on every child and is excited to share the opportunity for nature inspired education through LYNX.

In his free time, Joe enjoys travelling, camping, hiking, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
